Power Pro fought off stiff competition to be voted Best Braided Line at the recent European Fishing Tackle Trade Exhibition (EFTTEX) with new Power Pro Super 8 Slick braid.
Super 8 Slick sees Power Pro follow a growing trend in 8 strand braid, gaining popularity in many fresh and saltwater disciplines here in the UK. The use of 8 strands (sometimes known as ‘carriers’) produces a very round and smooth braid.
The Honeywell Spectra fibre used in manufacture is braided under high tension to produce a very high grade fishing line.
It’s good to see a new line available in a wide range of strengths too. Super Slick 8 will be available in 10lb, 15lb, 20lb, 30lb, 40lb, 50lb, 65lb and 80lb test, on 150 yard, 300 yard and 1500 yard spools.
It’s clear PowerPro have most anglers in mind for this premium braid. Angler choice is again broadened with the choice of colours on offer; Aqua Green, Timber Brown, Marine Blue and Hi-Vis Yellow. Something for everyone there.
PowerPro expects the first braid deliveries to happen in August/September 2011.
Will be interesting to see if the braid is as well received by the US market at ICAST, in Las Vegas next month.
Hi, I have a question re, Super 8 Slick Braid, would you describe this as sinking or floating or mid-wate line, in the UK fishing for Carp most of the time a sinking braid line is required, I’m thinking of 15lb B.S
