Well, it’s that time of year again (at last). The big tackle trade shows of EFTTEX and ICAST are behind us and fishing tackle manufacturers’ attention turns to consumer PR, building the buzz for next seasons tackle releases.
As ever, there’s an awful lot of new releases this year. The big manufacturers will use their marketing might to make their products stand out against the rest. It’s normally quite a show.
Australia seems to be ahead in this process every year. Check out this promotional video from Shimano Australia for 2012:
Star of the show for me here has to be the new Shimano Sustain spinning reel. She looks a beauty in black and will have the internals to match. Aesthetically, I also like what Shimano have done with the X-Ship logo on the handle there.
In Australia, the new Stradic FD will be ever popular – and what about that 2012 Aernos with its red jewellery? That’s a spinning reel that should come in under £100 if it reaches the UK shores.
Shimano will be attending this year’s Tackle & Gun Trade Show next month. We’re looking forward to see what we can expect in the UK.
