Gone are the days of back breaking bait digging. If you’re lucky enough to live in an area of decent substrate then now is the time to jump on the bait digging bandwagon, especially during the recession when 10 lugworm in a tackle shop can cost you as much as £4.00.
The new Kimera Pro bait pump has just been launched after the success of the Kimera Std which has been around for almost 18 months. The Kimera Pro is a 22mm bore lug pump that is designed, created and tested by professional bait diggers and is 100% stainless steel with a removable bush and neoprene washer. Every pump is hand crafted and built to your exact length making it one of the best pump systems available.
Looking at these lug pumps you can tell a lot of time and effort has been put into creating something that will inevitably ensure a fresh supply of bait for your fishing and in the long turn save you a vast amount of Continue reading “Kimera Pro Bait Pump Review”
New Daiwa Saltiga 3500 & 4000 Released
As far as light tackle fishing news goes, this is right up there… Daiwa have released the new Saltiga spinning reels in smaller sizes, including a baby 3500. Happy days!
When Daiwa released the new Saltiga range of spinning reels back in the tail end of 2010, questions were rightly asked over what this meant for the excellent Daiwa Saltiga Game range. Unlike the Saltiga Game range, the new reels have kept the aesthetic appearance of their big brothers. They don’t appear to be disadvantaged in any way either – just pint sized versions of the bigger reels. New features such as the lightweight Zaion Continue reading “New Daiwa Saltiga 3500 & 4000 Released”

Rite Gear Rod Bag – Matchman Rod Holdall

This is certainly the case with Dene Conway’s Rite Gear brand and their first product, the Rite Gear Matchman Rod Holdall.
It shows that 4 years of prototypes and testing went into what Continue reading “Rite Gear Rod Bag – Matchman Rod Holdall”
Review of Tronix Pro Twin Spreader Booms
Lesson learned yesterday. Stick with what you know.
Plaice season is in full swing on the South Coast where I fish and in recent seasons we’ve changed the way we fish for these handsome flatfish – namely with spreader booms.
Although slightly cumbersome out the water, fished from the boat these spreaders do appear to hold an advantage over our preferred tackle of previous years – running ledger, spoons, etc. Whether that’s because they facilitate Continue reading “Review of Tronix Pro Twin Spreader Booms”
