iTackle Magazine from Bauer

iTackle MagazinePublishing giant, Bauer have just released a new digital magazine on fishing tackle – and what’s more – it’s free!

iTackle magazine comes from the makers of Angling Times and being digital offers the fisherman much more in terms of a tackle review than traditional press.

The pilot issue of iTackle is out now (get it here) and features Shimano’s new Aero Technium Mgs carp reel that we featured last month, as well as the new Middy 14.5m MTDI Shock Core Fusion XP45 pole and the feature-packed Nordik Tackle Octbox Mk2 seatbox.

We wish Bauer all the best with iTackle. We like it a lot. The oscillation rate demonstration on the Mgs is fantastic.

2012 Shimano Fishing Tackle Video

Well, it’s that time of year again (at last). The big tackle trade shows of EFTTEX and ICAST are behind us and fishing tackle manufacturers’ attention turns to consumer PR, building the buzz for next seasons tackle releases.

As ever, there’s an awful lot of new releases this year. The big manufacturers will use their marketing might to make their products stand out against the rest. It’s normally quite a show.

Search eBay for a Daiwa Certate – especially in the UK – and if you didn’t already know they were high price items, you might get a shock. We’re certainly talking upwards of £200 plus postage for these spinning reels. The price is justified. Arguably the Certate is Daiwa’s answer to the Shimano Stella. In fact some anglers prefer the finesse of the Certate over the Stella.

Shimano Aero Technium 10000 XSB Mgs – Best Fixed Spool EFTTEX 2011

Shimano Aero Technium XSB Mgs ReelApart from winning our award for the longest reel name in history, Shimano have won Best New Fixed Spool Reel at the 2011 European Fishing Tackle Trade Exhibition in Amsterdam with their latest incarnation of the Aero Technium 10000 XSB Mgs.

Shimano have a habit of winning at this show. Over the course of the past five years Shimano have won eight awards, including one for the original Aero Technium XSA Mgs back in 2008.
